There have been many biographies written and speeches given on Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) that have provided a glimpse of his life, the role that he played as a Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam), and the message that he brought for mankind. However, the speech delivered by Ja‘far bin Abi Talib, RadhiAllahuA: Al-Waseela refers to a position which is exclusive to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) where, on the day of Qiyaamah, Allah Ta’ala will grant Him the honour to intercede on behalf of the entire creation for Allah Ta’ala to commence the reckoning. And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best. Beliau menyela. “Bukan (Rasul), tapi Nabi yang Engkau utus.” HR. Bukhori, 247 dan Muslim, 2710. Al-Hafidz Ibnu Hajar rahimahullah mengatakan, “Ungkapan yang terbaik hikmah sanggahan Nabi sallallahu alaihi wa sallam terhadap orang yang mengatakan Rasul sebagai pengganti Nabi adalah bahwa lafadz Zikir itu tauqifi (paten).
Translation: “Allah Ta’alah chooses messengers from the angels and the human beings”. According to some ulama, Mustafa is an attribute of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) like the other prophets. According to other ulama, Mustafa is the name of Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). This is probably based on the following hadith:3.
